Hispanics target of ‘predatory' mortgage loans, study says - 2005-02-10
Home mortgage predators may be close by and pouncing on a growing number of unsuspecting Pima County homebuyers and that has some public officials concerned.

The Southwest Fair Housing Council looked at foreclosures in Pima County from 1995 to 2002. During that time the number of foreclosures grew by 144 percent — from 1,399 in 1995 to 3,426 in 2002.

Many Homebuyers Choosing Adjustable Rate Mortgages - 2005-02-10
It seems logical: When interest rates start climbing, consumers will flock to lock in at current, lower levels.

But not in the housing market in 2004. Homebuyers opted for the highest percentage of adjustable rate mortgages since 1994, according to data collected by the Federal Housing Finance Board.
