Mortgage Brokers Busier - 2005-02-03
Mortgage brokers and financial advisers posted a pick-up in the number of loans arranged in the final quarter of 2004, says Paragon Mortgages.

According to their figures, the average number of loans issued increased to 27.8 from 26.8 in the previous quarter, reversing the downward trend in loan volumes over the previous three quarters.

Housing costs indicate no sign of reduction: study - 2005-02-03
The cost of purchasing a house in Canada continues to soar, according to a national real estate survey released today.

"The economy continues to do well and grow. More and more people can demonstrate to lenders that their jobs are stable and that they can qualify for mortgage payments -- and so the number of buyers continues to increase."
