Sporting a Space Age headset, Michele Hargis-Wilkerson preserved her connection with Wall Street and dozens of clients as she motioned for me to take a seat in front of her desk.

These are heady times at the Mesa branch of CTX Mortgage Company where Hargis-Wilkerson is manager. CTX, a subsidiary of Centex Financial Services, is one of four mortgage houses in a relatively new complex of office suites.

New deal for green homes - 2005-02-05
New homebuyers in Canada can now save $700 to $1,000 a year on utility bills, obtain a refund from the government and take advantage of a 35-year amortization — all by purchasing an energy-efficient house.

Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corp. is providing buyers a 10 per cent refund on the one-time premium charged for the mortgage insurance CHMC provides. CMHC assists homebuyers making down payments of 5 per cent to 25 per cent by insuring these high-ratio mortgages.
