Mortgage sales reps licenses proposed - 2005-03-17
Licensing of mortgage companies' individual sales representatives can play an important role in a newly launched effort to reduce or eliminate the number of housing mortgage foreclosures in Pennsylvania caused by predatory lending practices.

Also vital for the battle against the rising tide of foreclosures of mortgages is better access to accurate loan information, and additional advance notification for homeowners facing loan defaults, says Greg Simmons.

Buyer Beware Of Some Mortgage Offers - 2005-03-17
Home mortgage rates have crawled up in the past months, but there are still some good deals to be had.
But, NewsCenter 5's consumer reporter Susan Wornick reported, there are also some offers that seem great, but are not.

Homeowners may get a letter that offers to lower their mortgage payments, but homeowner beware. The letter says it's from your "mortgage holder" and it is a "payment reduction notice" and that "you may be paying too much." Homeowners are asked to call the toll-free number on the letter.
