Should You Wait Out Mortgage Rates And Refinance Mortgage Later? - 2005-03-28
Mortgage rates have been climbing steadily, and rates on 30-year home loans are back above 6 percent, on average. Is it a good idea to wait in hopes that rates go back down? Maybe not.

He said you might, in fact, do better buying when interest rates are up. That tends to depress home values, so you can get a home at a more affordable price and plan to refinance mortgage later, if rates do eventually retreat.

Court rules on FTC charges in mortgage refinance scam - 2005-03-28
A federal district court has barred a Colorado-based mortgage broker from declaring false claims about home mortgage financing services and ordered him to pay consumer redress following Federal Trade Commission charges that he violated federal laws.

According to the FTC, the defendant and his company wrongly claimed they could refinance consumers' mortgages at the lowest available rates at no cost to consumers.
