Coastal areas run highest risk of real estate price declines - 2005-03-30
There is a 16.1 percent probability of an overall house-price drop over the next two years in the nation's 50 largest housing markets, according to an index released by PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., a subsidiary of The PMI Group, Inc.

Coastal metropolitan areas were among the risk leaders on the PMI index. Three metropolitan areas in the Northeast region and six California metropolitan areas has the top nine spots on the risk index where home price declines are most probable over the next two years.
