Geography plays key role in reverse mortgage loan limits - 2005-03-09
The higher loan ceilings on the nation's most popular reverse mortgage program will do little to help senior homeowners in many of Western Washington's rapidly appreciating neighborhoods.

That's because the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM), insured by the Federal Housing Administration, stipulates the single-family loan limit for the particular area where the home is located determines the size of reverse mortgage that a borrower can get.

Be wary of refinancing your mortgage - 2005-03-09
The economic statistics that have been released during the past few weeks continue to be encouraging, and after years of decline, interest rates are slowly increasing.

Rates on fixed mortgages bottomed out briefly nearly two years ago, but today’s rates are still very attractive. Not a week goes by that I don’t receive at least one phone call from someone asking my advice about mortgages.
