Housing Prices, Mortgage Rates Affecting Va.'s Housing - 2006-01-11
A government report indicates that record housing prices and more expensive mortgage rates are beginning to affect Virginia's real estate market. Home prices jumped 18.66 percent for the 12 months ended September 30th.
However, a government agency warns that only 37 percent of Virginia households can afford to purchase a median-priced home of just under $280,000 ($279,942) with conventional financing.
