A hot real estate market provides fertile ground and the depersonalized process of buying a house has made mortgage fraud easier to execute. Fraud is a result of stolen identity or forging phony documents to secure the title to a house. One form of protection against fraud is title insurance, which can be bought for approximately $250.

World economy grows, faces dangerous balancing act - 2006-01-12
If things go according to plan, the world economy will sail along smoothly through the new year. The harsh reality is 2006 could see plenty of nasty surprises. Despite the fact that the world economy is growing, it is is dangerously imbalanced. Furthermore, investment is pouring into risky emerging markets as if the past decade's turmoil in Argentina, Turkey, Thailand and Russia never occurred.
