Signs are emerging that the era of explosive home-price gains is over for at least the next few years. During the past four months, the median asking price has fallen 5 percent or more in Boston, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. All over the United States, the number of existing homes sold dropped 1.7 percent in November, while the supply of homes continued to tick higher.

Asian housing boom lures U.S. immigrant investors - 2006-01-19
Investments made by Asian-Americans are helping fuel hot real estate markets overseas. Stymied by expensive California property prices, many immigrants are turning to their homelands for cheaper investments and an opportunity to ride the Asian boom. Foreign developers are accelerating that trend by marketing directly to eager buyers through California mortgage brokers.
