Home mortgage company settles complaint with Nevada - 2006-01-24
The home mortgage company that purchased Nevada state lawmakers tickets to a Rolling Stones concert in November has agreed to a $325 million settlement on accusations it was involved in predatory lending practices, according to the Nevada attorney general.
Nevada was one of 48 states that participated in the complaint against Ameriquest. The bulk of the settlement funds, $295 million, will be given back to consumers in Nevada and other states.

With home prices going higher, many people are being priced out of the market. As a result, the mortgage industry is reportedly considering a 50 year loan.
