AG cracks down on mortgage ads - 2006-10-19 The Colorado attorney general's office will subpoena a minimum of 10 area mortgage brokers and companies over the next few weeks in an investigation of possibly false advertising practices, a prosecutor in the office declared. The office is focusing on mortgage providers that advertise low teaser interest rates, highlight minimum-loan-payment plans and use confusing terms to describe their loans, declared Jan Zavislan, deputy attorney general for consumer protection.
