U.S. Economy: Rise in Producer Prices Suggests Inflation Risk - 2006-02-17
U.S. wholesale prices climbed 0.3 percent in January and costs excluding food and fuel jumped by the most in a year, highlighting worries that inflation may find its way to consumers. The augmentation in the measure of prices paid to factories and other producers was led by higher costs for vehicles and machinery and followed a 0.6 percent climb in December, the Labor Department said today in Washington.

US's Snow renews call for major economy growth - 2006-02-17
U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow on Thursday reiterated his call on other major nations to find ways to expand their economies faster, saying the U.S. trade deficit might be lower if they did. Snow declared that mistrust of international trade is "the most significant risk" to the global economy and called for more advancement among countries negotiating lower trade tariffs world-wide.
