In reaction, more homeowners are borrowing against their valuable residential property, and spending the money on all sorts of things.

Fed's Fisher says economy on solid track - 2006-02-06
Dallas Federal Reserve President Richard Fisher declared on Monday that U.S. fourth quarter growth could be revised higher and the country's robust housing market did not pose the threat that many seemed to think. He indicated U.S. growth would stay healthy, provided the Fed keeps inflation under control and trade was not affected.
