Sector Growth Indicates Robust U.S. Economy - 2006-03-03
The nation's service sector covering a large range of businesses such as banking, restaurants and insurance grew at a quicker pace in February than Wall Street economists had expected. The growth in these service industries is more evidence that the U.S. economy is on firm footing. It sets the path for a Federal Reserve interest rate increase later this month and allows the central bank to hike rates in May if required.
