U.S. Economy: Confidence Jumps, Manufacturing Gains - 2006-03-31
Americans are displaying greater confidence as manufacturing shows signs of picking up into the second quarter, two reports on the U.S. economy revealed today. Higher wages and a jobless rate close to the lowest in more than four years are supporting confidence among consumers, whose spending the Commerce Department said today expanded by the least in six months in February.
