US copper demand to stay weak as housing slumps - 2007-01-11
The U.S. spot copper market will likely stay slow through the first quarter of 2007 as the weak national housing market shows little evidence of recovery, physical copper dealers said on Thursday.
Single-family home construction dropped 18 percent in the third quarter of 2006 from its high a year earlier, and could decrease by up to 10 percent more, according to Freddie Mac.
