B of A's possible relief in refinance mortgage business - 2007-01-30
A year after making a successful $34.2 billion foray into credit cards, Bank of America Corp. is going through some growing pains. Chief executive Ken Lewis is scheduled to talk about the bank's "opportunities for growth" Wednesday morning at an investor conference in New York. There are suggestions that Lewis plans to push his bank further into the refinance mortgage business.

State orders firm to stop mortgage lending - 2007-01-30
The state Department of Banking today suspended the lending licenses of a struggling mortgage firm that is presently under investigation for failing to provide funding for customers whose mortgage loans had already closed. The suspension comes eleven days after the Banking Department and several other states ordered Mortgage Lenders Network to halt illegal activities and announced millions of dollars in potential fines.
