U.S. Economy: Job Growth Slows, Jobless Rate Rises - 2007-02-02
Employers in the U.S. hired fewer workers than forecasted last month and the jobless rate went up, evidence of an economy expanding at a moderate pace predicted by the Federal Reserve. The 111,000 jobs increase followed a 206,000 rise in December that was larger than previously estimated, the Labor Department reported today in Washington. The unemployment rate climbed to 4.6 percent, the first jump in three months.

Asian real estate turns heads - 2007-02-02
James Rehlaender, manager of the top international property stock fund, is selling shares of European real estate companies and investing more in Asia as demand for offices and housing in the region pushes up prices.
Office vacancies are at a six-year low in Tokyo; there is a shortage of apartments in Hong Kong, and Asian economic growth are helping drive up rentals by as much as 50 percent in the region.
