U.S. Economy Seen Expanding Modestly in 2007 - 2007-02-21
The U.S. economy is likely to expand modestly in the coming months despite the slump in housing and autos, a gauge of future economic activity indicated on Tuesday. The Conference Board said its index of leading economic indicators - designed to forecast economic activity over the next three to six months - climbed 0.1 percent last month.

Fed's Yellen: Housing has potential to cause recession - 2007-02-21
San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President Janet Yellen said on Wednesday said the current slowdown in the U.S. housing sector has the ability to create a recession in the world's biggest economy. She said, however, that adjustments in the housing sector are occurring and "there has been remarkably little spillover" to the overall U.S. economy.
