Two years in prison for mortgage fraud - 2007-02-22
Troy S. Clements, former operator of the Springdale mortgage firm American Funding, was sentenced Wednesday by Chief U.S. District Judge Sandra Beckwith to 24 months in prison for his part in scamming mortgage lenders out of $2.3 million. He admitted to charges of bank fraud and money laundering last September as part of a continuing federal mortgage fraud investigation.
