Report: U.S. Economy to Post Modest Gains - 2007-02-22
The U.S. economy is likely to expand modestly in the coming months despite the slowdown in housing and autos, a gauge of future economic activity showed on Tuesday. The Conference Board declared that its index of leading economic indicators designed to forecast economic activity over the next three to six months climbed 0.1 percent last month.

No sign of housing rebound, says Toll - 2007-02-22
An expected rebound in US homebuying activity failed to occur at the beginning of the industry's key selling season, according to Toll Brothers, the country's biggest luxury builder. Robert Toll, chairman and chief executive, said there were too many soft markets to "call a general upturn" following 18 months of falling sales across the industry. However, cancellations continue to decrease, and Mr Toll noted a rebound in the New York market.
