Beware the mortgage trap - 2007-03-12
Steve Moore, 34, of Delaware City, doesn't know when he'll find a suitable two-bedroom house to purchase south of the canal. The appliance installer has been trying to find for over a year a home his family can afford. But Moore is sure of one thing: He's going with a traditional, fixed-rate mortgage. He watched his cousin lose a home to foreclosure after taking on a mortgage with a highly adjustable rate.

Mortgage fraud is on the rise - 2007-03-12
Mortgage fraud is rising. That's according to the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs. At a press conference Monday morning, the department released their report on fraud and highlighted some tips to help consumers protect themselves from fraud. They declared that one of the best ways to prevent fraud is to have informed and educated consumers.
