Stocks tumble on mounting concerns about subprime lenders - 2007-03-14
Stocks dropped Tuesday, driving the Dow Jones industrials down more than 240 points to their second-biggest drop in almost four years, as troubles grew for subprime lenders. Investors, bracing for a weakening economy, fled the already deflated subprime mortgage sector on more news that lenders New Century Financial Corp., Accredited Home Lenders Holding Co. and General Motors Acceptance Corp.'s residential unit are facing financial challenges.

U.S. Economy: Import Prices May Contain Inflation - 2007-03-14
Prices of U.S. imports climbed less than forecast in February, held down by lower costs for metals and machinery that may help maintain control on inflation. The cheapest imported business equipment in almost a year is among factors that may make it easier for the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates unchanged, keeping the U.S. economy steady.
