Subprime mortgage woes keep home builders glum in March - 2007-03-19
Worsening problems in the subprime mortgage sector, which makes the riskiest home loans, dragged down U.S. home builder confidence in March, the National Association of Home Builders declared Monday. The NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market index decreased three points in March to 36 from a downwardly revised 39 a month earlier, the group revealed.

US refinance mortgage mess may not make good tenants - 2007-03-19
The subprime refinance mortgage crisis may boost demand for some low-end rental properties and manufactured homes, but analysts warn it may be hard to find investment gems in that trend. Troubles in the subprime mortgage market -- loans made to those with weak credit histories -- have resulted in more defaults and tightening of lending standards for houses.
