U.S. CFOs more optimistic about economy-survey - 2007-03-07
U.S. chief financial officers have become more optimistic about the American economy over the past three months, according to a survey released on Wednesday.
The Duke University/CFO Magazine Business Outlook survey found that 35 percent of CFOs said they are more optimistic about the U.S. economy than they were three months ago, up from 30 percent who expressed that feeling in the last quarterly survey.

Economist says cause of housing boom-bust is affordability - 2007-03-07
Both the recent housing boom and the current housing slowdown in California are the product of the same cause, a lack of housing affordability in California, declared Keitaro Matsuda, senior economist for Union Bank of California. In his annual housing report for the bank, released Wednesday, Mr. Matsuda says California’s housing boom of the first part of the new century can be blamed on the lack of affordable homes.
